Verizon turns on 4G network in Fayetteville market Verizon Wireless said it flipped the switch Thursday on its 4G network in Fayetteville, Lumberton and Moore County. The carrier is using technology called LTE, or Long Term Evolution, for its mobile broadband network, which the company says has speeds up to 10 times faster than its 3G network. The area covered by 4G for Verizon customers includes Fort Bragg, Spring Lake, east Cumberland County, Hope Mills, St. Pauls, Raeford, Aberdeen, Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Red Springs and Lumber Bridge.
